Ivory Watts is a political coordinator for SEIU Local 2015, California’s Long Term Care workers union that represents over 450,000 nursing home, private agencies, and in-home support services (IHSS) workers. With a mission to elevate the field of long-term care, Ivory works to expand opportunities and enhance its attractiveness to prospective healthcare professionals. Representing over 50,000 long term workers in the Sacramento region, Ivory is at the forefront of advocating for better working conditions, fair wages, and increased recognition for these essential caregivers.

Drawing on her expertise and commitment, Ivory collaborates with stakeholders, policymakers, and community leaders to enact meaningful change in the long-term care landscape. Her efforts are rooted in a deep-seated belief in the value of compassionate, quality care for vulnerable populations and a dedication to empowering workers in the field.

Ivory's journey into advocacy and leadership began with her work in Georgia as a community organizer. She earned her bachelor's degree from Georgia Southern University, where she honed her skills and developed a keen understanding of the societal issues impacting healthcare workers and those they serve. Since then, she has dedicated herself to making a tangible difference in the lives of caregivers and the individuals they care for, striving to create a future where long-term care is not only a vital service but also a fulfilling and rewarding career path.
