City of West Sacramento
West Sacramento is a full-service local government known for innovative solutions and public-private partnerships to solve difficult multi-jurisdictional challenges. The City has a
demonstrated commitment to regional collaboration and sustainable development that provide residents with opportunities for high-wage jobs and economic mobility. West Sacramento is a regional employment center with land capacity for 60% of the projected infill development envisioned for the region by the SACOG blueprint. The City has decades of experience serving culturally diverse and economically advantaged communities. City staff serves on the Yolo Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Board to foster connections to our businesses in the Food and Ag, Advanced Mobility, Life Sciences and Manufacturing sectors. The City operates one of California’s first Enhanced Infrastructure Financing Districts (EIFD’s), which continues to invest in community facilities and public improvements that serve all our residents. The City led a multi-agency, public-private partnership with Mercy Housing to complete a permanent, supportive housing (PSH) community, which now provides housing and services to 85 individuals formerly experiencing homelessness. The City operates an established workforce initiative; the West Sacramento Home Run, which provides universal pre-school, micro-credentialing, community college access and scholarships and student internships with local employers.
